I actually can't even recall the name of that map.

I don't know that we've ever played it for PUG if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Double post!

I think it'd be neat to do a less-serious round with people playing the competitive classes they don't normally play. Different from Silly Business in that we'd actually be looking to learn/improve/stretch class boundaries.

There was this tournament with special rules, nothing but off-classes. No demo, soldiers, and scouts. 1 heavy, 1 medic, 2 pyro/engie/spy/sniper. Can we try it one night?

Both captains should have input while teams are being picked.

b鼬: because as people are picked you can formulate stuff based onw ho is coming next etc

The positives are negligible and the negatives greater. No thanks, Ferret. There is little to gain from having the captains in while you pick compared to simply asking about balance afterward and going from there.

Plus, you refute your own argument by wishing this problem could have been foreseen, yet realizing you didn't see it yourself.

What are the negatives exactly? None of the people who volunteer would be loud and obnoxious about it, and their input is just there for input.

When Simcaster/NeD pick the teams, they have no idea what the captains have in mind for during the event, and while the captains having a heavy influence can make the teams imbalanced it just makes more sense. Saying "Hey, I'll probably have X on Sniper, giving me Y will probably gimp me a lot because I won't able to fill Z roll."

Pretty cool 5cp map made by the guy who made gullywash. I've played a lot of it on a pub server but I'd like to try it with 12 or 14 people.

I've played it on one of the reddit servers a few times, it was pretty ok. Don't remember the name though.
