View Full Version : (OLD) Options for Tanking a C3

I don't know what has been posted yet or what CA has decided for it's site runners as of yet.
However, I've been looking up setups on Battleclinic to get a good idea on the stats people use to run c3 wormhole sites.

It seems that a common method is to use passive shield tanked drakes, that simply warp out and back in when their shields get too low.
The tank on these ships have a peak tank of 480-500 (around 30% shield hp strength).
They were using 2-3 of these ships that each did 450-500 dps...

So, 500 tank can handle most c3 sites with only needing to warp out a few times when removing ships from the site at a rate of 900-1500 dps (2-3 ships @ 450-500).

While 'passive shield' is one method commonly used, I also ran across a RR (remote rep) fit for a drake.
2 drakes (each remote repping each other) net a 450 tank, 3 net a collectively 750 tank, 4 - 1150 tank, etc.. +300 tank for each extra ship)
This is known as a 'spider tank' and would even make c4's possible... (or we can use 2 logistics ships instead of have every ship fit a RR)

I have listed 2 passive and 2 RR fits below that are commonly used. (3 of them, the 4th I made myself)
Now, I'm not expecting everybody to fit these as is. Nor am I expecting everybody to hit 450-500 dps with their ships.

However, since I don't have api's for everybody and I cannot fit a ship specifically for each, the idea is to;
1) Put these fits into EFT
2) Set up a character into EFT with your current skills
3) Identify the tank that YOU would get
4) Switch out damage mods for more shield mods until your tank is as close to 480-500 as you can get.

With the remote fits;
1) If you have a lower 'Battlecruiser Skill" you will have a lower tank on the Drake and will need to switch a BCS for a DC
2) But as long as these exact mods are fit you will most likely not need to do a lot of mod switching to attain the needed tank

It's possible to set up an ARMOR spider tanking fleet.
