Mod Madness - Fallout 3 Locations

One of the best things about PC gaming is the ability to customize several aspects of your favorite games. This article is dedicated to that very practice. Each week, I'll feature mods from a specific game, and you can rest easy knowing that each one of them was tested thoroughly by yours truly. Want to see mods for a particular game? Can't get enough of a mod I haven't featured? Let me know in the comments section.

My list of Fallout 3 mods is exploding these days. It has recently gotten to the point that the game is becoming more and more unstable, but that's no excuse to stop now.  I normally steer clear of downloading safe house and location mods purely because I rarely spend any time in my safe house when playing, but in order to feature something new here, I tried out a few. Some were so-so, some crashed my game, and some weren't even safe houses at all. It turns out that one of the location mods I grabbed is now my favorite Fallout 3 mod of all time. Hit the jump to check it out, along with the best new safe house I tried.

Since the beginning of Mod Madness, I've featured mods for Fallout 3 that change the visuals, mods that improve the weaponry and a quest that could go down as one of the greatest Fallout 3 mods of all time. Before I go back and feature new visual tweaks, weapons or quests, I've been stuck with this feeling that I was missing something. How could I possibly go another month without featuring some of the amazing audio related mods for Fallout 3? Hit the jump to check out three of my favorites.

Fallout Online Offers Beta Applications

Fallout Online

I've been curious about the Fallout MMO since I first heard it was trying to get off the ground. After legal battles and delays upon delays, Fallout Online is finally accepting beta applications. The site is taking a massive hit from traffic, so it may be a little difficult to get signed up. Hope to see you roaming around the wasteland in the near future. To sign up, click here, and cross your fingers.

Fallout: New Vegas has a release date.

Fallout: New Vegas has a release date.  October 19th for the U.S. and the 22nd in Europe.  This news comes directly from Joystiq and I thank them for the news as I'm currently looking forward to New Vegas like lottery winnings.  The news is confirmed by the Official Fallout Twitter account.  Fallout New Vegas recently released a new trailer, which you can see after the jump, and it looks jam packed full of the same good stuff that keeps us coming back to the series again after so many years.  Of course, not that many since Fallout 3, but many since Obsidian last touched it.

According to Duck and Cover, Bethesda has officially dropped the lawsuit against Interplay in regards to the Fallout IP.  Interplay is now able to go ahead with completing the Fallout MMO currently codenamed Project V13.  It's still a long way off, but know that it is now in the works, instead of just concept art and a few pre-alpha pictures.  Hit the jump and discuss.

If you own Fallout 3 for the PC, you've probably already modified it. If not, I feel confident in claiming that you haven't seen anything yet. I've spent more time at the Fallout 3 Nexus than any other modding site on the Internet, and I could write several articles discussing all the wonderful things I've found there. In fact, I probably will. Hit the jump to see 3 of my favorite Fallout 3 mods that you may or may not have already tried.
