Champions Online State of Game letter
|Chronomancer over at the Champions Online website released a State of Game address. The address provides a lot of information about pre-order rewards, crafting, and UNITY missions which sound pretty sweet. Champions online has created quite a buzz in the MMO world lately, with their first batch of beta test keys going out this week and City of Heroes/Villains Issue 16 coming out soon. You can read the state of game address at the official Champions Online blog here.
Sweet Mother of AWESOME! Mass Effect 2 E3 Trailer!
|
I loved Mass Effect. The prospect of more Mass Effect got me giddy. This trailer made me wet my pant in anticipation for it. Also, the music sounds like Nine Inch Nails, but I wasn't 100% sure. Is it NIN or original soundtrack? It was one of those games I bought but never thought I'd play. I did for a few hours, then lost my save game. I got frustrated and it just sat in my steam list for a year. A few months ago I decided I had forgot enough of the opening story it would be new to me again. So I played it and now it's one of my top 10 favorite games. Enough with that. Watch the trailer after the jump and get excited. DO IT!
Mother's 20th anniversary!
|No, not your mother, Mother the game! Read this excerpt from earthboundcentral. On July 27, 1989, MOTHER was released in Japan for the Nintendo Famicom. It went on to spawn two incredible sequels and a compilation game. Now, twenty years later, let's take a look back at the game that started it all! I had to make this post, Earthbound(Mother 2) is my favorite game of all time. It's a JRPG that doesn't take place in some insane fantasy land or futuristic warzone, it takes place in what appears to be today. It's a very humorous take on the genre and is beautifully designed from the amazing trance music to ridiculous art style the game is terrific through and through. If you have not played this game, play this game!
Digital Distribution, backwards, the Good Old Games way!
| Chris Remo over at Gamasutra sat down with Good Old Games' Managing Director Adam Oldakowski. For those of you out of the loop, Good Old Games is a digital distribution outlet that focuses on old games rather than Valve and Impulse's model of new games. The site is run by CD Projekt, the creators of our favorite boob-o-rama style RPG The Witcher. The interview, like everything on Gamasutra, is a very business and industry oriented questionaire about Oldakowski's views on the industry and his website. The interview is insightful and provides a fresh view to those of us who are sick of hearing how terrible everything is.
Borderlands Gameplay Trailer released!
|
Before it was all screenshots. Mostly of this fine picture above. Finally a video was released that shows off the art as well as what the action looks like. If I wasn't excited before I CERTAINLY am now. (Though I was excited all along anyway) It's going to be so hard to wait until October for this. Video after the break.
Borderlands gets a release date, I'm giddy! October 20th!

We got a taste of Borderlands over at E3, and it looks pretty awesome. No release date was tagged on that until now. October 20th confirmed! Awesome. I'm pumped, and I hope you are too. 4-player first person action RPG is going to be fantastic. As long as it doesn't suck that is.

WoW Armory: At your fingertips and on the go!
Well the first official mobile application to monitor your MMO has been rolled out.
Stupid wowtard threatens to hijack plane, feds get called.

Yes parents, sometimes the idiot things you say can rub off on your children, and cause them to say idiot things.
An 18-year old Johnson County, Indiana WoW player was reportedly heard saying he "was going to board a plane at 7:30 to Chicago and that (he) was going to try and kill as many Americans as possible," according to an incident report from the sheriff's department." reported over at the Indy Star.
Rebellion acquires Vivendi licenses, considers sequels to all IPs
I'm sure you've all heard of Rebellion the indie UK developer boasting such titles as Alien Versus Predator on the Jaguar, and the one that later came out on the PC in 2000. No? Well, it gets interesting so bear with me.
In the Vivendi/Activision "merger" Rebellion ended up making out like a bandit on some of the IPs Activision didn't want including Evil Genius, Empire Earth, Ground Control and Lord of the Realm/Lords of Magic.
This is big stuff, especially considering the business model that's been used quite frequently lately of make a really bad game, then come out with a kickass sequel.
currently, they're developing Rogue Warrior for Bethesda, and a new Aliens versus Predator for Sega.
Mothership Zeta out of Beta, ready to be deployed as your computer data.

A release date was set for Fallout 3's FINAL DLC expansion Mothership Zeta. It's Bethesda's fifth installment into the Fallout 3 series and according to them, the final. This is an interesting milestone for Bethesda and gaming in general as Fallout 3 has been, in my opinion, the most successful display of DLC expansions I've ever witnessed. I'm currently working through the first Fallout 3 thanks to the surge of people purchasing it during the half off weekend on STEAM, but I'm already psyched for this expansion.
