Champions Online State of Game letter

champions online state of game

Chronomancer over at the Champions Online website released a State of Game address. The address provides a lot of information about pre-order rewards, crafting, and UNITY missions which sound pretty sweet. Champions online has created quite a buzz in the MMO world lately, with their first batch of beta test keys going out this week and City of Heroes/Villains Issue 16 coming out soon. You can read the state of game address at the official Champions Online blog here.

Sweet Mother of AWESOME! Mass Effect 2 E3 Trailer!

Where the Mass Effect 2 logo should go

I loved Mass Effect. The prospect of more Mass Effect got me giddy. This trailer made me wet my pant in anticipation for it. Also, the music sounds like Nine Inch Nails, but I wasn't 100% sure. Is it NIN or original soundtrack? It was one of those games I bought but never thought I'd play. I did for a few hours, then lost my save game. I got frustrated and it just sat in my steam list for a year. A few months ago I decided I had forgot enough of the opening story it would be new to me again. So I played it and now it's one of my top 10 favorite games. Enough with that. Watch the trailer after the jump and get excited. DO IT!

Batman: Arkham Asylum demo up on XBL and PSN!

Batman arkham asylum game XBL PSN GFWL

A demo has been released on XBL/PSN for the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game that's just about to be released. For those of you keeping track the game was supposed to be released in June and was pushed back until later this month. But if you're unsure about the game you can check it out on your favorite gaming console's live system unless your favorite gaming console happens to be a Wii, and if that's the case what are you even doing keeping up on game news? The demo is free and you can read the press release here.

Aion Dev Blog 2: Classes and Customization

NCSoft has released the second Aion dev blog, this one focusing on the classes, and your own character customization. They give a brief description of each class, with each dev picking their favorite. It also gives a look at the armor customization available. You can pick the stats from one item, but the look for another, so long as you own both items. That's a pretty enat concept that other games have already done, but few actually accomplish this at launch. The game is set to be released in mid-September, and I know that I am psyched for it. Check out the full dev blog below.

Prototype, now with 20% less cost!

Steam is doing another one of it's sales. This time for the recently released Prototype. The game got pretty good reviews, but the PC version had some issues when it launched. It may be worth it now, I haven't followed it enough to see if they patched the broken out of it. 20% off makes the game only $39.99, which isn't bad for a new release. The sale only lasts until August 13th, so if you were thinking about grabbing it, now is the time! Source: http://store.steampowered.com/news/2715/

Tour and Interview for Global Agenda

To my understanding, this game (another random claim) could be a wonderful MMO for the community. It has been getting praise by gamers and other developers for its incredibly fun gameplay and drive to get a good team based FPSMMORPG on the market. BarnGamerz got a video interview with them and here it is!

Games for Windows Live gets an upgrade

Games for Windows Live got an upgrade today, releasing version 3.0. This update introduces a few new features that I feel should have been in at launch. The biggest of which is downloading DLC from in game!

Modern Warfare 2's "Prestige Edition" is extremely limited.

IGN is reporting that the Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 is extremely limited. Speaking to Community Manager Robert Bowling, the discussion focused on how Infinity Ward did not want to find the Night Vision Goggles sitting on shelves months after release, or for pretty cheap on Amazon.

Blizzard is predictable. Starcraft 2 is delayed.

You heard it here...uhh, probably last. Starcraft 2 has been delayed to the "first half of 2010." Is anyone surprised? This is Blizzard, aka "when it's done". The only people that can out-delay them is Valve. News from Kotaku is below.

Steam is shutting down....for maintenance

This Thursday, from 9PM EDT to Midnight, Steam will be down for maintenance. You will still be able to log in and play games, but pretty much everything else is going to be disabled. That means no community, no friends list, no downloading or updating games, and most importantly, no unlockables in TF2. That said, I know that people are still going to hammer me during those 3 hours, asking why they can't use their Natascha, but whatever... Full announcement below.
