    2012 Update

    Valve has announced their 2012 update and the Meet The Pyro video. This update will not be a map or a hat so what could it be?

    I was kinda wondering if they'd ever do anything with the VIP model they have stored in the game data and bring back the escort missions from Team Fortress Classic. SO WHO KNOWS.

    Although, adding a new game type would require a new map, I'm sure. And also break Hammer again.

    Also, I'd really like to take part in the Saxxy Awards, but we don't have Replay enabled. I guess nothing's changed on the game servers end to let that come back?

    As far as the saxxys go, I'd like to get something working. Maybe server 2 could be replay enabled so people could do stuff there, maybe if they've improved the system we could run it on server 1 as well. It's something I'm gonna look into. Would it be worth having only on server 2? (it would be turned off during events if it caused too much lag)

    You could also send an e-mail to the TF2 team asking if they plan to optimize the replay system before the awards.

    I'd just like to get a bunch of people playing on whichever server has replays enabled just in case something hilarious happens during the game that I can get a shot of.

    I hope not. Hunted mode was a potentially fun mode with major flaws that made most rounds stink. Valve created payload mode to capture the best parts of Hunted while dispensing with the parts that didn't work, and in that they succeeded. Adding it back would be pointless since we have something better.

    Yeah I dont really see how VIP would be any different from payload, unless there was no set path. That could make it somewhat interesting.
