(OLD) A Basic WH run down

I should state why I believe we should go into a WH as apposed to high sec, low sec or 0.0. wormholes have the best risk/reward ratio having access to profitable Mining, Gas Harvesting, Mission Running(anomalies), and planetary mangement all while having relatively low traffic you normally don't get trouble unless you go looking for it. Pvping also can be successful and relatively safe as you can fuck over a group of people break the fuck out, then your location will change within a 24 hour period. (it is nearly impossible to locate our wormhole ever again unless they left someone behind with a scanning ship) if we were stationed in low or 0.0 we would have a stagnate location allowing people to hunt us down.

Here is a generic list of things that would be useful to have.

    Probing
Tip - You cannot release your probes inside of a POS(Player Owned Structure(PIECE OF SHIT)) you can however go to the outside edge and scan down from there.
    Minimum
    Astrometics 4
    Astrometric Pinpointing 1+
    Astrometric Acquistion 1+
Frigate 4 (your choice of race doesn't make a difference)
at this level you would have a fair bit of trouble scanning down a signature inside a C3 this is mainly as a "Oh Shit button" encase of a large group of our people were podded.

    Reccomended
    Astrometric 4
    Astrometric Pinpointing 4+
    Astrometric Acquisition 4+
    Astrometric Rangefinding 1+
Frigate 4 (Helps if you have 2 Gravity Capacitor Upgrades in your Frigate)
    *Covert Ops vessel if brotier.
at this level you can scan down signatures with relative ease, Signatures in a WH must be found daily.

    You and your WH
Tip - If at anytime outside of the POS you should be using your directional scanner (located on your central hud, ALT-D cmnd to open) it should be set to range 2147483647(you can achieve this by simply holding down the 9 button for a while and it will set it self to max) and Angle to 360 degrees. in most wormholes there are some things left hanging around, knowing what should be there and what shouldn't is something you need to learn pretty quickly(most notably scanner probes, if you see them go back to pos and inform everyone you can). the directional scan is the best way to prevent you from Surprise Buttsex and should be used every 15 to 30 seconds.

    Things in the wormhole

Gravimetric - Asteroid belts c3 normally have frontier where you can expect to find your ABCs (Arknor Biscuit and Crokite), moon sized lesser ores, as well as small amounts of Cox

there is no minimum requirement here, but its reccomended that you at least fly a Mining barge with some strip miners on it.

Ladar - Gas cloud harvesting sites, Fullerites a necessary component for the manufacturing of tech 3 cruisers and sub systems. the nice thing about these is that they use very little cargo space so they can easily be used as space fillers in our haulers on selling ventures.

again no minimum requirement on this but flying a battlecruiser with some gas cloud harvest 2s on it s recommended.

Planets - Planetology can be a good time sink and augment your income a bit in a WH, as the planet yields are as good as those in 0.0, It would be a very long explanation if I tried to explain this set of skills :3 so here is a couple of links.

    Planetary Interaction guide

    Planetary Interaction Spreadsheet

    Mission Running

Cosmic Signatures - Generic sites, salvaging needed

Magnetometric - (hacking sites) Salvaging and code breaking needed

    Archaeological - Salvaging and Analyzing

pretty much you need a well fit Omni tank(im going to say at least 60% for all resists) Battlecruiser or better in order to run missions in a c3 comfortably.

    more information upon inquiry.

So, I assume, we scan down a wormhole, check to see if its a C3 (How?), probe around see if its got what we need and is empty.

After that, we gather what we will need:
POS - What do we need to know about this? will a single player buy it and use it? or stay within the corp? what do we need along with it in terms of POS buildings?
Friends - Who do we take with us? only people we trust? only people we trust and are ready to come along? leave behind those who do not have the skills?

Every wormhole has a system name. You can look up that system with http://www.staticmapper.com/

It will show ou all the information you need to know about the system as well as any recent activity in it.
Here is an example of a C3 http://www.staticmapper.com/index.php?system=J225524

So buying a POS is simple. You buy the station, any guns and fittings we want for it, and fuel to run it. The hard part will be hauling and setting that all up as they are all on timers and you can only activate the items 1 at a time. This will take a full day of hauling, anchoring, and activating.

As for friends I assume we will keep this as a 1 corp only thing. We will want atleast 5 to 10 people to come in with us... WH life can be boring if only a couple people are there. Grap and I ran one for a few months by ourselves and made lots of money doing it.

As for leaving people behind... I would prefer to wait until everyone is ready to go at the same time then go ahead with the WH plan.

POS is owned by the corp I'm sure Tax + donation when the time comes will cover all the stuff me need for it

we can set up limitations to what people have access to in the POS like item storage can be separate and there can be multiple ship hangers.

Just going by memory it would take me probably 3 1/2 weeks to get everything trained to where it needs to be for WH space.

Re: A Basic WH run down

Let me know when this happens please! I might wanna join you guys in there.

Wormholes give access to 0% import/export planets - PI and null sec ores - Mining.
There are a lot of abandoned wormholes because they tend to spawn more mining sites than combat ones. They still spawn combat sites though.

I could probably live out of an Orca, but I'll think about joining your corp instead. Or maybe bring in a small PoS and set up in a different moon in the same wormhole.
