    Re: Lets Roam

Merc, I am fully against awarding anything but money as of currently, we do not know how well this will work out, so promising anything more is a bad move in my eyes. But if you want to do it and pay for it, its all up to you.

And I don't want to plan for anything more than frigates currently, lets keep it simple for now.

And I don't think a cap on any ships is needed for the first few times we do this

Since we have mostly got everything down, let's not make this an official event yet until we all talk about it at the next meeting (Tuesday 10 pm), I have 2 other semi-event things that I will talk about at the meeting, so seeing how we can plan the days around those, this, and other CA events would be great.

Right, Right, except playing with cruisers is another game entirely. One cruiser round every 2 months wouldn't be too far-fetched.

Merc, I am fully against awarding anything but money as of currently - But if you want to do it and pay for it, its all up to you.
A fully valid point. I'll provide the faction ammo, its easy to get. For the PLEX, you're right, lets not promise anything. I'll still provide our first PLEX as incentive to come play.

    The rules so far

    > Friday Night Fleet Combat is scheduled on friday nights, 9 EST. (Subject to change)
    > Participants will have to send the host an eve-mail confirming their presence at least an hour before the event, and write if they're willing to become a fleet commander.
    > The Fleet Commandeers identities are hidden from the other team, for security reasons.
    > Each pilot will have a spending cap of 5m on modules. Further expenses will not be reimbursed.
    > The winning team is awarded 5m each. The losing team is awarded 3m.
    > Logistics and support will be awarded points on their team's performance.
    > For everytime your name appears in a kill-mail, you are awarded one EVE point. All Kill-mails must be posted.
    > Both Fleets shall field the same class of ships. This rule is subject to change for variants.
    > There will be a notice if there's a new variant planned for next week.
    > Both Fleets starts @ 30km, orbiting a jetcan. When cruisers, the distance is increased to 50km.
    > You cannot fit faction or officer ships and modules. Faction Ammo is allowed.
    > Ships warping out are considered out of bonds and forfeited. Warping out is a valid tactic to deny kills.
    > Podding corpmates is entirely forbidden and will result in disqualification, and suspension.
    > For safety measures, smart bombs should have auto-repeat off.

So, it terms of actual reimbursement, what is the corp covering? Everybody up to 5mil? or is that just counting the reward?

I don't like the idea of the losing team being awarded anything, especially if they are getting reimbursement of any type.

I think both fleets should just start at different celestial bodies in the system and warp together when the event starts to some other celestial body where the fight will occur...This allows both teams to decide how close they want to warp in on their enemy...Caldari frigates should have the largest range if I recall, using missiles as well as having bonuses to hybrid range, starting at 30km, they might just already be able to hit them.

5m for the winning team, 3m for the losing team. Maybe an extra 5m bounty for the winning team.

There is no perfect way to start those rounds. 30km is close enough to decide if you want to burn under their guns or stay at range, and starting by orbiting allows you to keep full traversal at first. It also allows the FC to quickly formulate a plan before the round starts.

We could self-destruct a shuttle and use that as countdown.

    > Each pilot will have a spending cap of 5m on modules. Further expenses will not be reimbursed.

So, for example, could somebody spend 20m+ on a best named missile launcher? or is the spending cap, an actual spending CAP?

    > You cannot fit faction or officer ships and modules. Faction Ammo is allowed.

Exactly, faction ammo should always be used in pvp. If you're going to have a tournament, you should use faction ammo. Completely agree here.

    ----------------------------------

Couple things that were not mentioned.

    T2 Frigates?
Personally, I think these shouldn't be used. While somebody like me could afford to blow some isk on a T2/faction frigate every week, it would be unfair to others. Allowing these would force people to use them just to compete and the price tag is too high imo.

    T2 Modules?
I think by saying you can't use faction/office modules, you leave people to assume that you CAN use t2 mods. But I'd like you to state it outright. T2 mods are generally under 1m each, while some best named mods can go for 20m... I think t2 mods should be allowed. As long as the total price of the frigate remains under the CAP. Assuming there IS a CAP on ship costs?

    ----------------------------------

I'd just like to add that electronic warfare is the best way to even the skill point playing field. Somebody with 20m SPs in Gunnery, can't bring those skills to bear on you if they can't lock you, track you, etc...
Merc was suggesting that only one frigate be allowed with an ewar bonus. I believe this was a 'preemptive' rule with the assumption that ships like the Griffin would be too powerful on the playing field. I SHARE his concerns, although, I believe we should go with Ruugab at the start; Don't make the rule unless it actually becomes a problem.

    ----------------------------------

This sounds like fun, I may move an alt into CA to do this with you.

    Re: Lets Roam

About T2 Frigates: We don't allow T2 hulls unless we go for a t2 variant someday. If we do we'll send a notice a couple weeks before so you have time training/gathering funds for it.

About T2 modules: There's an actual CAP of 5m. You might get 100-200k more in, but we won't reimburse more than 5m. As long your ship doesn't cost more than 5-5.2m it should be fine. A t1 frigate with tier3 mods cost around 2.5m. This leaves you funds for a couple T2 modules. For example, if you're specialized in gunnery, you should keep that fund for guns rather than t2 propulsion.

We might raise that cap later, tho I doubt we'll see it higher than 6m

    Re: Lets Roam

All right, lets test this out. I'm scheduling a test fleet on the 27th. Be sure to have a frigate ready. We'll be duking it out near Inaro, or if we moved in the meantime, at our home system.

Edit: Test Event confirmed for 8:30 EST. Location: Waskiken or Inaro.
